Celtis occidentalis, Jefferson County, West Virginia. Often a cops of trees in a pasture or cultivated field like this is an indicator of rock outcrops.

Common hackberry, Celtis occidentalis.

Again, checking out the new A7II. Handheld. I didn’t buy it for landscapes but if it passes that test it’ll do well as my all-the-time cam. So far only two (likely related) problems, both can be dealt with: the camera is too damn sharp, and color moire in some circumstances.

Trying out a new camera body with vintage lenses. In addition to being able to use virtually any lens made, this camera has in-body stabilization that works with these alternative lenses. I still have a few issues to work out. And I’m still looking forward to the Sony A9 release, but I am certainly enjoying this camera.
