Silver Maple on the Potomac
Silver maple, Acer saccharinum, at the mouth of Antietam Creek.
This is a rework of a file I posted on October 3, 2016. Still not sure which I prefer. The previous post was more heavily processed (it more blatantly imitated an old process and style) and I guess that us what is putting me off. This one is certainly processed, as are all of my images, but the manipulation is less obvious here.

Sycamore
Looking through some older files I came across this image from 2012. Not sure I ever posted it but I think it is successful in that it really captures the essence of this massive sycamore along the Potomac. Plantanus occidentalis.
