Magnificent Tupelos

Nyssa sylvatica, the source of tupelo honey. These magnificent tupelos are the largest I have seen. They are massive. You can’t see the bottom section of the trunks here, but you can see how they tower over the buildings behind them. This is not an illusion. Indeed, they positively dominate the huge open landscape of this dairy operation in Clarke County Virginia.
