Don’t ask me to pronounce the species name and I don’t know the common name. This is one of three azalea species I have seen growing on Dolly Sods, and not counting a few hybrids. Early June 2016.

This is a thornless hawthorn in front of a red maple and some red pines. I think this is another of those ya gotta see a big print images. Don’t see too many thornless haws in the wild.
