Old Friend
Here is a complex image for you: color relationships, composition, layering – but I think it works.
Old friend refers to the bush in the foreground (Ilex mucronata, formerly a Nemopanthus sp.). I have been photographing it for 20 years in its various stages of windblown life. It is much smaller now – the bulk of it weighed down by the snow until it gave up. Click the link below to see a previous post.
