Time’s Up Without Heirs
Whenever I need (another) reminder of the transience of life I reflect on this property. I photograph here often – it is less than a mile from my home. The house and property were clearly well loved: a number of outbuildings built with obvious intent, several acres of plantings now completely mature. There was an old man still living here when I moved into the neighborhood 20 years ago, but he has been gone for years now. I can only assume there are no heirs. It is sad to see this much care and effort simply crumble instead of being passed on to another generation.
