Ephemeral Gestures
Actually ephemeral gesture describes most what my images are about. I don’t often point the viewer in that direction through the name or description, but instead name and talk about the physical content. In that vein, this is Schoolhouse Ridge. Again. The shape of the land here is interesting to me, and it reveals itself readily. When I can get it (see it, feel it, record it, present it) the gesture is there for all to see. It is ephemeral because the actual existence in the landscape is fleeting… dependent on a number of constantly shifting factors. The two most important factors are the light and my ability to connect with what is in front of me.
