The Bridge

I have photographed this bridge more often than any single thing I can think of. I guess the river and its endlessly changing atmospheric conditions are an important part of its visual fascination. But the bridge’s monolithic and concrete structure are a refreshing change from my normal visual stuff. The formalism is regular, man-made, very different from the fractal-like formalism of the natural landscape. All it means is this: I like shooting this bridge because it is very different from my normal pursuit. And in that it can be refreshing.
